How I got started:

I grew up with a sewing machine in my home and my mother sewed practicality all of my clothing. When it was time for new school clothes I would beg to get a couple of store bought items. My mother taught me how to sew while advising me to always keep a sewing machine because you never know when it would come in handy. There came a time though when I stopped sewing and it was because of the cost. I felt that by the time I purchased all the items and added in my time I could simply go out and purchase the item. But I missed it and the uniqueness having a one of a kind item. In later years I learned how to bypass some of the high costs and enjoy my craft once again. So in this forum, I can not only enjoy what I do but also show others how to sew without breaking the bank.

I  had a goal in mind. To retire from the work world, teach, beginning sewing classes for adults. As time for the plan came near, I found a studio for my classes and had the rental contract in hand for review. For some reason thank God I didn't sign it right away because the next thing I knew, Covid took place. Imagine if I'd been stuck with a studio that I legally was unable to utilize?

I'd been shopping at a local fabric outlet A&A Textiles since they opened and would always hold conversations with the owner Armando. One day I told him about my plans and how they had fallen through. At this time Covid wasn't over but we were allowed to go into establishments. He told me that I could conduct classes there, no fee. We would be bringing customers to one another as a result. Armando even supplied the tables and chairs! And there I was smack dab in the middle of his establishment conducting classes.  Armondo and his family soon became like family to me. Such loving down to earth people. I am seriously forever grateful to him for taking a chance on me. It went well, very well but unfortunately, non-covid health issues caused me to have to discontinue the classes.

But I'm back! Now with my own Studio, Sew Blessed Creations! And on cloud nine!
